Part 1 Going in to this experiment, I had high hopes of this being easy and straight forward. However, a few seconds in to what was practically a one ended conversation, I had difficulty trying to communicate with my partner without speaking. I came in to this thinking it would be similar to a game of charades and my partner would easily be able to understand me. This was not the case. I started to think my partner was just not good at charades because he couldn't make out anything I was doing. I found that without using language, it was hard for me to form sentences. I also used my hands and head more in an attempt to describe what I was trying to say. My partner found this experiment very difficult when we started and couldn't understand anything I was attempting to communicate.    In the early 1900s, scientists were fooled for more than 40 years by one of the ultimate hoaxes. The classic scientific hoax is known as the Piltdown Hoax. Charles Dawson was the amateur archeologist who claimed he found a piece of an ancient human skull in 1912. Dawson was digging in Piltdown town where he discovered the human remains. He invited geologist Arthur Smith Woodward and paleontologist Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, to the village in Piltdown where they were digging in a gravel pit for the summer. Dawson located a human jaw bone that looked similar to an Ape, and it was thought to be the piece that connects humans to Apes. The fossils supported the theory of Arthur Keith that humans developed big brains before they walked upright. Scientists were extremely happy to hear the news, because now England had ancient fossils like other countries: France, Germany and Asia.   When taking a looking look at a whale and a hummingbird, it may have never crossed your mind that these two share homologous traits. A whale is a very large sea creature that weighs a ton of pounds and its home resides in the ocean. We are able to see whales come up to surface as they are sea animals that breathe air.  Whales are mammals and give live birth. This is unlike hummingbirds. A bird that flies in the sky weighing in about 0.14oz and is the smallest amongst bird species. Hummingbirds are vibrant with brightly colored wings.They have originated from South Africa and are found in many areas of the world.  Whales and hummingbirds have many differences from size, appearance, to habitats. However these two animals share skeletal bony structures. The skeleton of whales and hummingbirds have similar skulls, humerus, ulna, radius,legs, ribs and phalanges.
